THE GERARD COSMETICS SLAY ALL DAY SETTING SPRAY

Hello my lovelies
Back at it again with the blog posts... too much?
I've been wanting to write this post for a while now because I think I've found a true holy grail product. As an oily skin gal I struggle to find products that will stay on all day without it sliding around or fading away. I would just pack on the powder so I looked like a cakey mess and for some strange reason my skin would look incredibly dry whilst being oily AF.

I was just strolling through Beautybay (as you do) and I was on the hunt to find a setting spray as I don't actually own one... HOW DO I NOT OWN A SETTING SPRAY!?
Gerard cosmetics have been floating around the blogosphere for years now and its only been easy to get a hold of in the UK now for about a year or so. I've heard amazing things about their new range of scented setting sprays and I just couldn't help myself, they were reasonably priced (£12.50) and I was completely swayed by the fact that they're scented, lets be honest who doesn't want a scented setting spray?

They have 5 different scented sprays (Peach, Green tea, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemongrass) and I am obsessed with anything fruity so I obviously picked up the peach scent. The smell reminds me of a pornstar martini and is much more stronger than I thought it was going to be, it's not unbearable but just make sure you shut your eyes when you spray this!

Gerard Cosmetics claims that the Slay All Day Setting Spray actually combats the amount of oil that your skin produces and mattifies the skin without leaving it looking cakey and sinking into your pores. Normally I'm not the one to buy into companies 'claims' but this spray is the real deal. I have found that my makeup stays in place all day, like no joke.
As some of you may be aware I took a bit of a break from blogging and I've been spending most of my time in the HOT and HUMID and SWEATY hospital and I can honestly say that when I come home at like 10 o'clock at night my makeup is still intact.
Obviously, because I have oily skin I do still get oily around my nose but not as much as it normally would so I would say that this setting spray works. My makeup doesn't slide around my face, it isn't cakey and I have stopped looking like a sweaty mess which is great!

I've had setting sprays used on me in the past but they've never really made a difference so I've never picked one up because I thought it was just a gimmick, like one of those water in a can sort of things. The Gerard Cosmetics setting spray has made a massive difference in how my makeup looks and how long it lasts and I totally agree with everything that Gerard Cosmetics claims about this spray. This is actually the thing product from this company that I've tried so I'm excited to have a browse into their liquid lipsticks and their star powders!

I hope you've enjoyed my little review of this spray and I want to reassure all of my oily babes out there that there is hope and we don't have to live the oily life anymore!

  2. I love the packaging! Being a sufferer from oily skin myself I know your pain! Currently using the Urban Decay setting spray but as this is about £10 cheaper it's worth giving ago!
